A three-day basic training for Educators on 'Learning to Live Together (LTLT)' was held in Kathmandu, Nepal from September 15th to 17th, 2011. The workshop was organized by Peace Education Network-Nepal (PENN) together with GNRC South Asia Secretariat and Arigatou International. Twenty nine participants participated in the training, including teachers, NGO workers, CSO workers and trainers. The workshop was carried out by Master Trainers, Suchith Abeyewickreme, the Secretariat Coordinator for GNRC South Asia, and Maria Lucia Uribe from Arigatou International. Read more



San Lucas Sacatepequez, Guatemala - July 26 to 30 at Monte Carmelo House of Prayer was the site of an Ethics Education workshop on the use of Learning to Live Together with 40 representatives from religious institutions in Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Mexico and Nicaragua. Participants included theologians, managers, educators and youth leaders from the educational programs of these institutions.

A South Asian regional training of trainers course on the use of the ‘Learning To Live Together’ manual for ethics and peace education will be hosted by the Sarvodaya Movement, at the Vishwanikethan International Peace Centre, Rawatawatte, Moratuwa from the 13th to 18th of August, 2011.

A two-year interfaith, intercultural school exchange project is currently being organized by the Cape Town Interfaith Initiative in partnership with the Blackburn College in Blackburn, United Kingdom. The GNRC Europe, Arigatou International and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) are offering an International Basic Training Course designed to help educators and young adults working with children and young people on how to use the Learning to Live Together Manual. GENEVA, Switzerland – Early November, the Sarvodaya Shramadana movement, Sri Lanka's largest people's organisation and the representative of the Global Network of Religions for Children in this country, reported its use of the Learning to Live Together manual in a year-long peacebuilding programme for youth. After the 30-year armed conflict in Sri Lanka, the government in 2009 took control over all areas controlled by the rebels, but today much is still needed to develop a peaceful and united nation that truly appreciates its cultural and ethnic diversity, the report says. CHALATENANGO, El Salvador – El Salvador takes a first step towards the implementation of the ethics manual in a formal education setting in the Los Ranchos school centre in San Antonio. In October 2010, GNRC El Salvador implemented a workshop with 14 school teachers in the San Antonio Los Ranchos school centre, to launch the capacity building course in the Learning to Live Together manual.
