Ethics education in Europe

During 2007-2008 the GNRC in Europe has been developing training workshops on how to use Learning to Live Together for adults in Belgium, Luxembourg and England, with the support of the Interfaith Council.  The participants of the workshops came from these countries and from Denmark, France, Romania, Spain,  Sweden and Switzerland.

In Solihull, UK, Learning to Live Together was introduced to teachers as an instrument to promote community cohesion in their country.  The Manual is being proposed to complement the existing educational curricula on interreligious education in the UK.

In Belgium, the GNRC youth are using the Manual with other youth to promote mutual understanding and respect and encourage each other to become agents of change.

A workshop for young people was held in Zaragoza in September 2008 with the participation of young people from Belgium, Portugal and Spain.   The workshop used the Learning to Live Together manual to empower the youth to become peace builders and to develop youth initiatives to promote social transformations in their societies.
